Dr Lanze Vanermen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the Academy of Future Education, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
As an education researcher, he draws conceptual, theoretical, and methodological inspiration from science and technology studies (STS) to conduct qualitative analyses of how technologies, scientific disciplines, and organisations (re)shape education in ambivalent ways.
As an educator, he aims to bring people together and study the sociotechnical conditions, configurations, and consequences of educational issues. He has several years of experience teaching higher education programs in internationalised contexts.
Lanze is currently interested in critically mapping edtech and higher education ecosystems, in European and Chinese contexts, inviting people to (re)consider their adaptation in/to such ecosystems.
