Ping Wang joined Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) in June 2023 as the Head of the Higher Education Division. He holds a BA, an MA in applied linguistics and an Ed. D in language education. Before he joined XJTLPU, Professor Wang was a professor (level three) at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Dr. Ping Wang is Professor of language education. His main areas of interest are Translanguaging and Content and Language Integrated Learning. He has published extensively along these lines in leading journals, including Applied Linguistics, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, International Journal of Multilingualism, International Journal of Multicultural and Multilingual Development, British Journal of Educational Technology, European Journal of Teacher Education, Cambridge Journal of Education, European Journal of Education, and International Journal of Applied Linguistics. He has published 113 papers and two monographs. He also serves as reviewers for 11 SSCI-indexed journals. Professor Wang was awarded the Wiley Certificate for the Most-Highly Cited Researcher in 2022 due to high-impact research. He has a forthcoming monograph examining the translanguaging pedagogical phenomena in EFL classes in Neidi Xinjiang and Neidi Tibetan Classes. He has completed one project funded by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, one financed by the Qianjiang Talent Scheme (Type C), and one supported by the Zhejiang Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences. Professor Wang has taught Research Methodology in Education for many years to graduate students, who have welcomed his teaching.
