I joined XJTLU in May 2023 as an Associate Professor in the Education Development Unit. I am also an Honorary Research Associate at the Durban University of Technology in Durban, South Africa, where I was previously employed as a Dental Technology academic, researcher, and practitioner in the Dental Sciences department. A Fulbright Fellow, Teaching Advancements at Universities fellow, and Y2 NRF-rated researcher, my research interests include undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry, internationalizing the curriculum through virtual exchanges such as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), curriculum design and development, and game-based teaching and learning. 2022: Recipient of the KIC/NRF Grant for the ‘Hosting a Visiting Scientist’ Category. The Amount Awarded is R 50 000.

2019: Recipient of the ‘2018’ Vice-Chancellor’s Award in Recognition of Innovative Excellence in the Category of ‘Networking the University’ for the 4Ps of Digital Business Practices in Dental Technology: An Online Pedagogical Intervention to Enrich Student Learning. Received at DUT Council Awards 2018 Ceremony, which was held on Friday, 29 November 2019 at the Durban Country Club in Durban.
