Personal profile
Dr. Zhang received her PhD degree in Biochemistry from Duke University under the direction of Dr. Tao-shih Hsieh and went to University of California, Berkeley for her postdoctoral training under the guidance of Dr. David G. Drubin. She was appointed as an associated professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Peking University and Capital Medical University, working on molecular mechanisms of membrane trafficking in neurons and glia and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Zhang joined the Academy of Pharmacy, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Oct., 2021. While continuing her endeavor in mechanistic studies, her current research focuses on identification of potential drug targets and novel therapeutic interventions in neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Zhang is an expert in membrane trafficking and neurodegenerative diseases. She has published papers in EMBO Rep, J Neurosci, Glia, Cell Mol Life Sci, FASEB J, Mol Neurobiol, Front Cell Neurosci, J Neurochem, etc., as correspondence author. She welcomes interdisciplinary collaborations and motivated undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Biology or related disciplines to join the lab.
