Incorporating sustainability into educational frameworks is a criterion set by various quality assurance entities. However, this integration is challenging due to the complexity of sustainability itself, which includes 17 specific goals, 8 key competencies, with varying interpretations across various academic disciplines. This project proposes to collaborate with students to leverage GenAI in the design of card games that empowers students to learn about sustainability that is both engaging and personalised to their interests. The effectiveness of the card games will be assessed through questionnaires and interviews, providing insights into their impact on learning. Additionally, the project will create an archive and organise an exhibition to showcase students' narratives and perspectives on sustainability, derived from their gameplay and reflections. Anticipated outcomes include enhanced sustainability teaching at XJTLU and the creation of meaningful learning experiences that resonate with students’ concerns and aspirations.
