Dr Pengfei Fan is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Intelligent Science, Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He received his PhD degree from Queen Mary University of London, UK, both his Bachelor‘s and Master’s degrees from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China. His research is centred on developing novel low-level vision and computational imaging technologies, interfacing with signal processing, machine learning and computer vision, in applications such as biomedical imaging, image restoration and enhancement, scattering imaging and projection, and multimodal sensing fusion. Dr Fan has published 20+ papers, including LSA (Nature), LPR (Wiley) and OE (Optica). His research has been supported by various domestic and international grants, including EPSRC, Royal Society, NSFC, and Jiangsu Key Laboratory.He was a Research Associate at the School of Electronic and Optical Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China, from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, China, in 2020. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
