Matthew O'Brien

Matt first came to China in 2005 as a British Council language teacher, and spent many of the intervening years living and working in Asia. Matt began lecturing at XJTLU in August 2022, having previously taught EAP at China Agricultural University's International College, Beijing, for over 10 years, specializing in academic writing and curriculum development. Matt has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in philosophy as well as CELTA and TEFL accreditations, and enjoys developing EAP courses and lessons with a strong emphasis on critical thinking.
