Personal profile

Personal profile

Dr Qiuchen Dong has been well-trained on the topics of electrochemical-based biosensors, chemical sensors, and gas sensors in the aspects of design, fabrication, and evaluation for biomedical and agricultural applications from the year 2013 to 2021. Professor Yu Lei supervised Qiuchen during his graduate studies in the major of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Connecticut from 2013-2019. Afterward, Qiuchen moved to Minneapolis to work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Professor Abdennour Abbass lab in volatolomics in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Minnesota, majorly focusing on using Proton-transfer-reaction Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS). Qiuchen joined the XJTLU in May 2021 and is now on track to grow his lab to further explore various types of sensors, including microfluidics-based chemical sensors, nanomaterials-based electrochemical biosensors, and thin-film materials/nanoparticles/metal-organic-framework based gas sensors in the applications of biomedical and agricultural settings. Qiuchen is currently open to accepting Masters students and Ph.D. students with a masters degree in chemistry-related disciplines. One Postgraduate Research Scholarship (tuition coverage) is currently filled and closed. Should you have any interest in joining the group, please email me at qiuchen.dong@xjtlu.edu.cn
