Abstract
Growing digitalization in higher education and the availability of advanced technologies like Generative AI require teachers to continually enhance their digital literacy to meet the demands of an evolving global higher education landscape. This presents both unprecedented opportunities for innovation in the classroom and significant challenges, including a gap in teachers' digital literacy levels and insufficient professional development support. This chapter discusses an initiative to enhance language teachers' digital competencies at a transnational university in China. Through detailed case studies, it highlights the challenges and successes of an in-house technology training and support system which has not only facilitated the enhancement of digital skills among language teachers but has also fostered an interactive learning atmosphere conducive to increasing student engagement. The chapter aims to encourage wider adoption of similar initiatives, thereby advancing the digital empowerment of educators across diverse educational landscapes.
