Abstract
From 2023 to 2024, Dr Kon Kim, Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design, conducted a field study in Mokpo, a small to medium-sized city in South Korea. Despite Mokpo’s decline, an increasing number of young Koreans have been moving from metropolitan areas to start new businesses and build their lives there. For this research, 32 young people were interviewed. The documentary Circle (《圈》) captures the memories, perceptions, and opinions of these young migrants, as well as their efforts in community building and space creation.
