Abstract

Action research has been regarded as an integral session of practice-led research. In the context of education, action research is perceived as an effective tool for institutions, schools, and classrooms to enhance teaching, and has been widely adopted by teaching faculties all over the world in an internationalized teaching context (i.e., Transnational Education) for Personal Development Planning (PDP). Thus, the present chapter aims to focus on a dedicated teaching and learning context of Transnational Education (TNE) to explore how to practically improve students’ learning motivations through “learning by doing”. Data were recorded and collected from multiple sources, including students’ module feedback questionnaires and teaching session observation. Based on data, it is found that the completion rates of after-class exercises, weekly time spent on the module as well as the learning experiences increased significantly. A new multi-dimensional teaching and learning model in TNE is introduced to include cognitivism, social constructivism, and technology-enabled learning.
