Personal profile

Norman holds an M.Ed. in English Language Teaching from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Higher Education Research, Evaluation and Enhancement from Lancaster University. Before coming to work at XJTLU, he worked at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi as a senior instructor and course coordinator in the Department of English and Writing Studies. He has also worked in the UK, at the University of Sheffield, and Spain.For much of his career, Norman has been involved in designing and delivering courses which support university students in contexts where English is the medium of instruction. He has also managed and delivered teacher training courses for pre-service teaches of English (Celta) and for in-service teachers of English (Delta).
