Dr. Hao Lan holds the position of Associate Professor of Economics at the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). He completed his PhD Economics from the University of Nottingham and MSc Finance and Econometrics from University of York in the UK.
Dr. Hao Lan is an empirical economist with a primary interest in testing economic theories through the use of novel data and advanced econometric methods. His research spans several fields, including food economics, macroeconomics, energy, environment, housing, and finance. Specifically, he focuses on examining supermarket pricing strategies and market competitiveness using unique micro-level price datasets and advanced panel time series models, with studies in the UK food retail sector (with Lloyd, McCorriston, and Revoredo-Giha) and the Chinese online retail sector (with Zhou). Additionally, he investigates macroeconomic issues using country-level aggregate data and nonlinear time series models (with Abbas), and extends his research into energy, environmental, and housing sectors (with Zhao and Dogah).
Dr. Hao’s significant contributions to the field are evidenced by his publications in world-leading journals, including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, Energy Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Oxford Economics Papers, the Journal of Agricultural Economics and Journal of Cleaner Production.
In his teaching role, Dr. Hao teaches Financial Econometrics to final year undergraduate students and Time Series Analysis to masters students. He has also contributed significantly to academic administration, serving as the Library Liaison Officer for the economics department and previously holding the position of Deputy Programme Director for the MSc Business Analytics program from 2017 to 2021.
蓝昊博士目前在西交利物浦大学商学院担任经济学副教授及博士生导师。他在英国诺丁汉大学获得经济学博士学位,并持有约克大学的金融与计量经济学硕士学位。在回国前,蓝博士在英国东英吉利大学诺里奇商学院及竞争政策研究中心工作了四年,任助理研究员。他的研究领域涵盖微观价格机制、宏观经济学、能源环境经济学以及房价投机等方面。尤其在微观食品价格机制的研究方面,他的研究一直位居国际前沿地位。他在《American Journal of Agricultural Economics》、《Energy Economics》、《Environmental and Resource Economics》、《Oxford Economics Papers》、《Journal of Agricultural Economics》、《International Review of Economics and Finance》和《Applied Economics》等世界顶级和权威期刊上发表了多篇高质量的学术论文。回国后,他主持和参与了多个省部级、地市级和校级研究项目。在西浦商学院,他主要为高年级本科生教授《计量经济学理论》,同时还为研究生开设《时间序列分析》课程。
