Personal profile

Dr Liu, Yun (Queen’s, Alberta) has worked in China and Canada and gained most of his research and teaching experience in Wuhan, Edmonton, Kingston, and Regina before he joined the XJTLU in 2022 fall. His academic specialties are rooted in the domains of development studies, economic-environmental policies, global trade, and international political economy. These research themes would be mostly overlapped with modern China’s industrial and economic evolutions, especially regarding its development paths and governance mechanisms at both local and global scopes and levels. His research works have also focused on modern China’s historical lessons from those radical changes and revolutions traced from the 19th century to its more recent evolutions with industrialization, globalization, modernization, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Dr Liu’s academic training and research interest have thus extended across humanity (History), social science (Financial/Development Economics) and International Business.Dr Liu welcomes PhD applications related to his research interests.
