Ming Xu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in telecommunications from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, and the Ph.D degree in electronic and electrical engineering from University of Birmingham, U.K.. He had worked with Xi’an Jiaotong University, City, University of London, Kingston University and University of Cambridge. He is a senior associate professor in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and an honorary professor in University of Liverpool. He was a recipient of the Overseas Research Students (ORS) Award from Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals, U.K. in 1996-1999, a second-class Science and Technology Award from Ministry of Education of P. R. China in 1998, and an IET Premium Award from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2012. He is recruiting PhD and M.Res students, for University of Liverpool degrees, in computer vision and pattern recognition.
