Abstract

This paper (with poster) discusses the expressions of 'wholeness' and 'unity' in the lexicon and grammar of Abui, a Papuan language of Eastern Indonesia. After overviewing the lexical and grammatical devices, we also explore how the notion of 'wholeness' is applied to space, landscape, and its human inhabitants.
