Abstract
The paper proposes an original intervention in the town of Oliena that involved citizens and stakeholders in the regeneration of the village through a well-structured and articulated scientific activity. “Retroinnovation” (1) has activated social practices that have brought out opportunities and potentials of the territory starting from its local tangible and intangible resources. Thus, the multidisciplinary process conducted over the years through workshops, exhibitions, conferences and debates has enabled the consolidation in citizens of a consciousness of place, understood as a structure of individual and collective feeling that binds people with the territory.
The scientific methodology applied through a co-design approach has made it possible to develop a set of useful guidelines for the regeneration of the village independently.
Therefore, the process is aimed at making the inhabitants more autonomous in constructing narratives of the hamlet and the stakeholders more likely to develop a local economy oriented toward the value of territoriality.
