Abstract
The frequency dependence of the magnetoelectric (ME) effect for bulk composites that consisted of magnetically soft ferrite and piezoelectric PZT, was studied. The magnetic bias and volume fraction of PZT phase in the composites were investigated to optimize the ME output. Structural characterization was carried out using an x-ray diffractometer. The magnetic driving field and magnetic flux density were tested by a pick-up coil and a search coil connected to a fluxmeter. The results show that ME resonances are caused by electromechanical resonance in the piezoelectric phase or magnetomechanical resonance in the magnetostrictive phase.
