Personal profile

Hao Yu is an Associate Professor of Physics in School of Science. He received a B.S. in geology from Nanjing University in 2001, and a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Nanjing University in 2007. After two and a half years of research in Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, he joined XJTLU in 2010 and has been here ever since. His research area is condensed matter physics, with a specialization in spintronics. He has been Principal Investigator of ten research grants from NSFC, NSF of Jiangsu, Suzhou Science and Technology Program, and RDF, RSF, KSF of XJTLU. He has taught a variety of undergraduate courses such as Physics, Calculus and Engineering Fluid Mechanics. He is also a keen practitioner of research-led teaching and has delivered about 50 lectures in external training sessions of ILEAD. He has given many popular science lectures to audience from kids to college students.
