N2 - The video coursework of Self-management course at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, a joint international university of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Liverpool university, is studied as case in this paper. The peer assessment activity among team members has great impact on students' participation in related learning activities. This paper is aimed at looking into the correlation between online group peer review with students' engagement under a transnational background to improve learning and teaching quality of higher education. Student activity reports from the learning platform-ICE are collected, analyzed and interpreted using quantitative research methods. The finding is that online peer review has a positive impact on promoting students' participation in related learning activities. Students acted more actively in the video assignment related activities with implementation of online peer review in the video coursework. Reflection on the implementation experience of online peer review in self-management class with reference to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) [6] is emphasized throughout the paper. Future action research is needed to deepen the findings.
