N2 - Teachers' definition of what knowledge is, how people acquire it, and how we determine whether knowledge has been acquired or not influence greatly how we understand the teacher's role in the classroom and to what extent we promote learner autonomy in the classroom. Learner-centeredness is one of the most important principles of constructivist FLT. Thus, we could say to a great extent constructivism in education informs the promoting of learner autonomy in the language teaching and learning today.
