As the Administrative Officer, Huiwen Jia provides professional services to the Department of Educational Studies (EDS). She is responsible for providing administrative support to issues of Learning and Teaching at the Academy throughout the academic year.

 

Huiwen supports the Head of the Department and academic staff in the academic-related business of the EDS, and builds strong working relationships with other functions across departments, Academy and the University. She also supports for the examination and assessment processes, in conjunction with staff in the Registry, throughout the academic year. Huiwen helps with the Departmental budget preparation, student recruitment initiatives and act as a coordinator to work with Program Directors to liaise with applicants for interview, and proactively contributes to different kinds of events at different levels, including graduation ceremonies, open days, away days, staff/faculty events, student recruitment, and other academic events.

 

Huiwen also provides support to the Director of Learning and Teaching on strategic, tactical, and operational issues, as well as responses to University connections to the Academy, such as:

  • Development of future programs, pathways, and modules.
  • Review and reporting on existing offerings for Academy and University purposes.
  • Development, maintenance, and enhancement of international connections. (Student and staff recruitment, joint delivery of offerings, research-program events or programs, etc.)
  • Development, maintenance, and enhancement of industry involved learning offerings.
  • Quality assurance work, including work directly with the University of Liverpool and XJTLU offices such as EQA, Registry, and CAA
  • Support for Academy learning and teaching related committees/events such as ALTC, Learning Innovation Events, Learning and Teaching Away Days, Student Progress Committee, etc.
  • Support for cross-Academy development initiatives related to Al-enhancement of all programs, post graduate review, and other strategic and tactical priorities.
  • Knowledge of, dissemination, and advice on policies and procedures.

Experience

Before Joining XJTLU, Huiwen Jia worked in Duke Kunshan University as an Admissions Officer in China Enrollment Management office for over 4 years. The main responsibilities include:

  • Analyze the applications of prospective high school students based on standard admissions policies and perform preliminary review of applications as appropriate.
  • Host information sessions in high schools and in public occasion in several cities.
  • Process and analyze scholarship and financial aid applications based on polices. Perform preliminary review of related applications.
