Personal profile
Simon Schweighofer joined the Media Communication Department in 2020 as Assistant Professor for Quantitative Research and Analysis. Simon holds a PhD degree in Computational Social Science from ETH Zurich, an MSc and BSc in Psychology, as well as an MA and BA in Sociology from University of Salzburg. He previously taught at the Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg. Simon has published in renowned journals, such as Policy and Internet, Chaos, and EPJ Data Science, and presented his research in various international conferences, among them the International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2), the Conference of the International Society of Research on Emotion (ISRE), and Complex Networks. His research focuses on online data (especially text), social networks, and the roots of political polarization.
