Professor Serdar S. Durmusoglu earned his Ph.D. in marketing from Michigan State University. He also holds an MBA from Purdue University (finance and marketing concentrations). After getting his Ph.D., Prof. Durmusoglu earned his tenure and spent a total of more than a decade in academia in the United States and consulted startups at the same time. Previously, Prof. Durmusoglu has been a faculty member in several universities around the world: China, Thailand, and Turkey. Dr. Serdar’s research centers around innovation, entrepreneurship, and branding topics. His work has been published in the top journals of his field such as The Journal of Product and Innovation Management and Industrial Marketing Management, among others. He is also a co-editor of Product Development Management Association’s (PDMA) book, New Product Development Essentials: Tools for Open Innovation. His most recent book is Chinese Innovation and Branding Leaps. Further, Dr. Durmusoglu is on the editorial board of Industrial Marketing Management and a member of PDMA’s Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award Committee, an award given to leading firms to recognize sustianed innovation success and cutting-edge nre product practices for almost four decades.
