Sara Bueso Ariño holds a degree in Hispanic Philology (2010) from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and a second degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology (2013) from the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain). She also holds two official master's degrees, one in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (2013) and another one in Teacher Training: Secondary and Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Language Teaching (2018), both from the Rovira i Virgili University. She has 7 years of experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Chinese universities. From 2014 to 2017, she worked at the Zhejiang International Studies University (Hangzhou) as a Spanish Language Lecturer for the Hispanic Studies degree. Since 2021, she has been working as a Spanish Language Lecturer at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (Suzhou), where she has also served as Deputy Head of the Spanish Division (2022 - 2024). Currently, she is the Module Leader for the Year 2 Spanish modules (SPA003 and SPA004).

Research interests

Her Research interests, particularly in Sino-speaking contexts, include the implementation of learning and teaching methods and approaches, such as, Cooperative Learning, Project-based Learning, Storytelling Approach.

The use of Digital Technologies applied to foreign Languages Learning and Teaching and the implementation of Podcasts in the foreign language classroom constitute another two research interest areas.

Furthermore, Intercultural Mediation in the foreign languages teaching and learning ​​and affectivity in the foreign languages classroom are also two central aspects of her research interests.
