Personal profile

Nick Simpson joined XJTLU in April 2024. Prior to this, he worked at Seoul National University in South Korea as part of the team developing the TEPS English exam. He has also taught EAP at the University of Ulsan and has held management and teaching positions at British Council teaching centres in South Korea and Malaysia. Nick has a BA in History and English from the University of Leicester in the UK, an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham and is currently working on a PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) at Lancaster University in the UK. 

Research interests

Nick is interested in using his research to identify when and where the use of technology for teaching and learning in higher education provides specific affordances for the English language to become a force for social change.
