Description

Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial IoT is a rapidly growing field and in recent years has been at the forefront of digitalisation and digital transformation to create smart solutions with the help of intelligent internet of “things”. As we are aware, IoT uses smart sensors and actuators to collect data generated by range of products, processes and services across broad range of applications, which is then communicated for real-time data analytics and ultimately to drive business decisions faster, accurately, proactively and predictively.

IoT however faces multitude of challenges as a result of interaction and interfaces between the digital and physical products, processes and services. In addition to the hardware, software, communication and networks driving the design and delivery of the IoT-based smart solution, the real-world products, processes and services generate large amount of data that is all around us at all times. Such a data may

be coming from whole range of different sources, examples of some of them include data from weather station to environment, from machines to manufacturing processes, from industrial products and services to consumer electronics, from logistics to supply chain, from healthcare devices to wearable technologies, from energy devices to large energy production facilities, from intelligent vehicles to intelligent transportation, from robots to industrial co-bots, from smart cities to smart grids, from smart homes to intelligent buildings, from defense to mining, the list is endless. IoT join these dots by meaningfully processing, storing and displaying the data.

AIoT is converging Artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT, bringing intelligence and decision-making to the next level where data is not only useful but also more meaningful for improved decision-making, where processing is done at places where they are most needed and results from it drive business intelligence, operation and control.
