Abstract

We present an approach to detect eyes in segmented facial images by constructing Eye Maps and Mouth Maps to generate potential eye and mouth candidates and then performing facial feature geometrical verification on the potential candidates to determine suitable eye-and-mouth pairs. Simulation results showed that the proposed geometrical tests improved the correct detection rate by about 10%.
