Maria completed her M.A. in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language in 2007. Afterwards, she moved to Nanjing, where she taught in Nanjing University and in Nanjing Communication University of China. Prior to this experience she was a Spanish teacher in the US for two years.She joined XJTLU in November 2015. Three years later, she received the Certificate in Professional Studies in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education(CPS) from the University of Liverpool, and Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (UK).
