I joined Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou in 2020. As a sociologist, my research and teaching interests fall into four major areas: sociology of labor and work, sociology of development and economic change, collective action and social movements, and sociological Marxism. I received a Ph.D. degree from the Sociology of Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019.Currently, I am working on two research projects. I am writing a book about Chinese grassroots labor activism and trade union reform. I also start to collect data for a new research project on the political economy of flexible labor market development in the context of Chinas manufacturing industrial upgrading.I especially welcome and would like to work with Ph.D. applicants who want to study Chinese labor issues across different industrial sectors, such as intelligent manufacturing labor, platform labor, digital labor, and labor dispatch and outsourcing,
