Dr. Huaxin Wanglu is currently an Assistant Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. She obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Konstanz (Germany) and her doctorate with Cum Laude (Excellent) from Ramon Llull University (Spain). While working as a pre-doctoral researcher at IQS School of Management, she held a visiting position at Heidelberg University (Germany) and Peking University. Her latest research lines center on assessing mobility dynamics and identifying Aporophobic behaviors. She also has an interest in applying HeXie Management Theory to comprehend the implications of AI technology adoption. To date, part of her doctoral work has been published in the Journal of Development Studies (ABS 3, SSCI Q2) and Journal of International Trade & Economic Development (SSCI Q3). During her doctoral studies, Dr. Wanglu worked as a Research & Teaching Assistant at IQS School of Management mainly for two Horizon Europe projects. She also co-organized the 1st International Workshop on the Chinese Development Model in Barcelona. In 2022, she was selected by the Societat Econòmica Barcelonesa d’Amics del País for the Catalan research mobility fellowship.

Students who are interested in undertaking a PhD with a focus on Economics or empirical, interdisciplinary research (e.g., Mobility & Migration, Human Development & Well-being, Aporophobia & Poverty Traps, and the application of Prospect Theory) are encouraged to reach out via huaxin.wanglu@xjtlu.edu.cn.
