Personal profile
Dr. Ding has an interdisciplinary education background from biotechnology to pharmaceutics, and biomaterials science and engineering. His research focuses on the development of biocompatible carrier-based nanomedicines, transdermal drug delivery systems and microfluidics-based technologies for multimodal treatments (e.g., chemotherapy, phototherapy and immunotherapy) of various diseases including cancers and inflammations. Dr. Ding has published nearly 30 SCI papers, including 17 of them with him as the (co-)corresponding/first author in top journals such as Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, Biomaterials, Chem. Eng. J., Nano Lett., and J. Control. Release. He also published one chapter of an international book regarding microfluidics. He has been granted 5 invention patents by the United States, China, Japan and the Europe, and has won several awards including the Patent Excellence Award of China (2020) and Science and Technology Progress Award of Taizhou City ( First Prize) (2015). Dr. Ding warmly welcomes students interested in the research of biomaterials, drug delivery systems and microfluidics to join the lab. He also welcomes enterprises that have needs in the design and improvement of formulations to cooperate, including the development and application of traditional formulations (controlled-release microspheres, hydrogels, etc.) as well as nanomedicines, and transdermal formulations such as microneedles.
