Dr. Chia-Feng (Jeffrey) Yu is a Senior Associate Professor in Finance at the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) of Xian-Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU). Prior to joining XJTLU, he worked at the University of Adelaide (Go8) in Australia. He is passionate about bringing his research and teaching interests to his new cohorts and developing his career in new educational contexts.

 

Dr. Yu obtained his PhD from Monash University. His research covers a broad spectrum of areas, including corporate finance, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, behavioral finance, and financial disclosures. He has published extensively in reputable internationally referred journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics (FT-50); Journal of Corporate Finance x2 (ABDC: A*, ABS: 4); Journal of Business Finance & Accounting (ABDC: A*); Journal of Business Research (ABS: 3); European Accounting Review (sole-authored; ABDC: A*); European Financial Management (ABS: 3); European Journal of Finance (ABS: 3); Journal of Futures Market (ABS: 3); Journal of Management Accounting Research (sole-authored; ABDC: A*); International Review of Financial Analysis x3 (ABS: 3); International Review of Economics & Finance; Finance Research Letters; Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, among others.

 

Dr. Yu has successfully completed the supervision of several PhD/MPhil students. They all graduated with a thesis eventually published in a high-quality journal. He always tries his best to provide suggestions for his students in a timely and helpful manner and guide them to develop and accomplish high-quality research. He has been well-recognized as a superb researcher, supervisor, and teacher by his colleagues and students.

 

Dr. Yu's current research mainly focuses on competition and coordination within top management teams, the real effects of financial information and regulations, and the determinants and consequences of technological and financial innovation. He also works with his colleagues on research projects regarding corporate social responsibility, environmental protection, and labor income and gender inequality in China.
