N2 - Recent interest and advancements in Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) has increased significantly, in no small part due to the demand for health monitoring devices, not only for use in professional healthcare institutions, but also from an ever increasing number of health conscious individuals. This paper focuses on providing an overview of WBAN applications, spanning the medical and non-medical fields. Furthermore, the challenges and issues needing to be addressed for various applications are highlighted for future work.
