Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a large hybrid interconnected mixture of many devices and wearables, driven by several technologies such as communication, computing, control, and data management. IoT concept has impregnated almost every industry and society, yet it is a new fertile area of research on many dimensions. One of them is the study of the nature of uncertainty inherent in each thing in IoT, the level of uncertainty created and propagated by the interconnection of large heterogenous things, in order to quantify the risks in social, economic, and technological sectors. In this paper a systematic approach is presented to study the risk factor in using IoT-based applications in the presence of uncertainty and imprecision inherent in it.
