Abstract

In this chapter we study the Simple Matrix encryption scheme, which is one of the very few multivariate encryption schemes from the SingleField family. After introducing the basic Simple Matrix encryption scheme, we consider a variation called rectangular Simple Matrix encryption scheme. This scheme allows a more flexible parameter choice which leads to smaller key sizes and a decreases the probability of decryption failures. We end this chapter by a security analysis of the Simple Matrix scheme.
