Abstract

To guarantee aligned antenna polarization propagation, symmetrical dual-polarized rectenna array has been designed for orthogonally and/or two-tone excited polarization-tilt-insensitive microwave power transmission. Differentially-feeding networks are introduced for sub-antenna array to ensure low insertion loss of both vertically-polarized (VP) and horizontally-polarized (HP) ports. Meanwhile, single-series rectifiers with hybrid coupler are connected to adjacent two sub-antenna arrays for wide-coverage capture of electromagnetic wave interrogations. Both simulations and theoretical analysis validate such proposed symmetrical +/-45° dual-polarized rectenna array for polarization-tilt-insensitive and wide-coverage microwave power transmission.
