Abstract

Based on the literature of strategic fit, an empirical test was developed to explore the relationship between the strategic fit and firm performance. Four dimensions including environment(E), organization(O), leadership(L) and strategy(S) are considered. We analyzed the data from 159 Chinese firms by the product-moment correlation matrices. The results showed that, there are more significant correlation coefficients in high performance firms compared to the low performance firms. And it is significant different between the two sample of firms. We concluded that the firm which pursuit the high performance should pay more attention to the strategic fit among the four dimensions. The discussion followed argued that the research on the strategic fit is significant for the development of Chinese firms.
