N2 - Seoul International Garden Show is an annual competition to design a small project for a garden in the city of Seoul. Our project proposed to research what we called trans-architecture and trans-nature: a space of interaction between architectural elements, nature, and the users. The interactive heart of our installation lay in its dual components: a sophisticated lighting system and a resonant sound system. Seamlessly integrated into the tree trunks through artfully designed stainless steel attachments, these systems sprang to life through advanced sensor technology. As visitors drew near, their movements were detected and transformed into digital signals by these discreet sensors. These signals were then relayed to a central processing unit. Here, they prompted two responses: the playback of pre-recorded, tree-inspired sounds through strategically placed speakers, and the activation of LED lights within the structure's cells, illuminating the immediate area of each visitor. This seamless process created an enchanting symphony of light and sound, responding dynamically to human presence.
