Abstract

This paper describes an urban design studio that explored digital methods of design thinking, expression, form finding and communication. It reports on the goals and outcomes of the studio and the educational approach is portrayed: the way urban design tools can make use of parametric design methods, and the process and outcomes of the studio. It discusses implications on design education as well as understanding and communicating of complex design tasks that are digitally responsive to a variety of parameters. The studio continues a series of investigations that explore parametric design methods in architectural design.
