Abstract

Differential power processing (DPP)architecture as a promising technology is proposed now to solve the mismatch issues among photovoltaic (PV)cells. In the current study, DPP converters use the bidirectional DC-DC converters, which requires at least two active switches to achieve energy extraction and energy injection. This paper proposes a PV-to-bus DPP architecture based on unidirectional flyback converter that reduces the total number of switches by half reducing the costs significantly. Furthermore, flyback converters are working in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM).
