    Abstract

Curator of the "New Narratives" programme for XEC Interplay at G0 Gallery.

The New Narratives programme offers a pioneering exploration of storytelling, stretching and reimagining conventional forms. These films intertwine themes of personal identity, societal critique, and emotional depth in innovative ways, broadening the landscape of cinematic expression. With fragmented structures, experimental visuals, and poetic interpretations, the works encourage audiences to engage with narratives in fresh, thought-provoking manners. In New Narratives, artists redefine storytelling as an open space for interpretation, emphasizing emotional resonance and conceptual depth. By tackling themes such as isolation, mental health, and the intricate dynamics between humans and their environments, these films present new paradigms for how stories can be experienced.

Featured artists: Agnieszka Waszczeniuk, Alex & Brett Fishback, Arkus, Chanwoo Jeon, Joanna Polak, João Pedro Amorim, Kiarash Dadgar, Lorenzo Silano, Qiang Chen.
