Abstract

In this episode, we discussed innovative new ideas to integrate into our teaching in the upcoming semester. We invited three professors from Liverpool University and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University to discuss specific teaching techniques they’re using in the classroom that our listeners can easily try. Here are some of the topics we covered:
• “Chunking” in a lecture to make it more engaging
• Using fly swatters and games in the classroom to increase active learning
• Peer review processes for formative assessment
• Gamification in the classroom
