Abstract

This paper introduced a half-bridge based bidirectional AC/DC converter. The structure is more compact by setting up the AC side half-bridge circuit and DC side half-bridge circuit on the primary and secondary sides, respectively. A simple phase-shift control scheme makes the converter not only capable of controlling DC voltage or current, but also capable of achieving the function of single-stage power conversion. Zero voltage switching or zero current switching also characterizes the operation of this converter. This paper first analyzes the proposed topology and operation, then presents the principle of the control module, and finally the reliability of the whole topology is briefly analyzed and the waveforms of the simulated operation results are given.
