Abstract

In this paper, artificial neural network (ANN) method is used for modeling of microstrip Alter with various defected ground structures (DGS). Modeling of DGS is the difficult part in designing of microstrip filter. By using ANN, the circuit modeling of microstrip filter becomes simple. This paper presents the modeling of five DGS geometries from simple to complex. These five DGS geometries (Square, C-shaped, L-shaped, U-shaped and complementary ring resonator) are used frequently in size reduction and performance enhancement of microstrip filter. For all design configurations 50Ω, λ/4 microstrip line is used.
