Abstract
In the original Mobile Agent migration system, the minimum information set will be abandoned if the Agent migration fails. The minimum information set has to be re-packaged while the same Agent requests to migrate again, which results in an unnecessary waste of computing resources and migration delay. In this paper, the original migration mechanism was improved by adding an Agent migration cache manager (AMCM) in Agency. The mechanism distinguishes two Agent migration ways: strong migration and weak migration. While the migration failed, AMCM will put the minimum information set into cache. In this way, the minimum information set will be sent to remote Agencies directly without re-packaging when the same Agent requests to migrate again. The mechanism also realizes the high-performance Agent continuous migration among multiple target nodes. Experiments and performance analysis show that the Mobile Agent migration mechanism based on optimized cache mechanism can effectively reduce the consuming of computing resources and the delay of Agent migration.
