Abstract

The intensive computation in full search block-matching motion estimation algorithm is a common problem in the development and implementation of many visual processing systems. In this paper, a lowcomplexity motion estimation algorithm that involves transforming multiple bits video sequence into a onebit representation using a line-based approach is presented. The advantages of the proposed method are that it reduces the computational complexity of motion estimation process and allows real-time video processing without causing a significant decrease in the motion estimation performance.
