Abstract

Despite the rapid spread of BIM methodology in the professional market worldwide, its adoption in China is particularly difficult. The thwart is largely due to a vicious cycle of a shortage of professionals and the company's effort to nurture talents with expertise in BIM, together with a lack of requests from the market. To overcome this situation, it is necessary to incorporate BIM methodology into the Architecture programme in China.
The present research aims to systematically introduce BIM into an architectural programme in a Chinese university, where it was previously absent from all modules. The effectiveness of the teaching is then evaluated by a questionnaire and the results are presented graphically. The research seeks to enhance the quality of education by aligning the curriculum with international standards.
