He conducted research on the design of optimal measurement and verification strategies for the National Energy Efficiency and Demand-Side Management (EEDSM) Program at the Centre of New Energy Systems (CNES), University of Pretoria. He is currently a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering, University of Pretoria. Since 2011, he has been a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), a SANAS approved technical signatory to support the national EEDSM program and 12L Tax Incentive scheme. He received a Y2 rating from the South African National Research Foundation (NRF). He is leading four research projects in the fields of microgrids, national building energy performance certificate (EPC) program with financial support from the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K., and NRF, South Africa. His research expertise lies in the areas of EEDSM, building and industry energy system modeling and optimization, renewable energy, microgrids, and electric vehicles. He also serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE ACCESS and IET Renewable Power Generation.",
