N2 - The internal and external mismatches experienced on photovoltaic (PV) cells will reduce the actual output power. Compared with the full power processing (FPP) architecture, differential power processing (DPP) architectures achieve high system reliable and efficiency by processing a fraction of total power when maintaining the operation of distributed local maximum power point (MPP). This paper presents a comprehensive review of different DPP architectures in terms of the connection, power converter topologies, and MPPT control. The conclusion was drawn based on the literature review and evaluation.
